About Sand Fall

Draw sand, water, stone, fire or erase cells and watch the four particle types interact under simple grid physics. The simulation uses 4-pixel cells and five tools: sand, water, stone, fire and erase, plus Clear All.

Sand falls and can swap downward through water; water falls, moves diagonally and can flow sideways; stone remains static. Fire has a 5% update chance to disappear and can spread into empty cells upward at 30% or sideways at 10% chances.

How to Play Sand Fall

1Choose Sand, Water, Stone, Fire or Erase from the tool row.

2Press and drag across the canvas to paint or remove particles.

3Switch materials to create interactions, or press Clear All to reset the grid.

Sand Fall Rules

  • New material is painted only into empty cells, except Erase which clears cells.
  • Fire can disappear or spread according to its per-update random probabilities.
  • There is no score, timer, win condition or game-over state.

Tips & Strategies

  • Place stone first if you want barriers that redirect falling sand or water.
  • Use Clear All before a new experiment when residual fire or water would affect the next setup.
