About Table Tennis

This Table Tennis game is a one-player paddle duel against a CPU. Points are simple—miss the ball and the opponent scores—but rallies become less forgiving because horizontal ball speed compounds by 5% on every paddle contact.

Contact position also changes vertical velocity, so hitting away from the paddle center produces steeper returns rather than a fixed bounce.

How to Play Table Tennis

1Move the left paddle up or down with touch drag or the arrow keys.

2Meet the ball with the paddle before it passes the left edge.

3Use off-center contact to change the return angle.

4Score 7 points before the CPU.

Table Tennis Rules

  • The first side to 7 points wins.
  • Each missed return gives 1 point to the opponent.
  • Horizontal ball speed increases by 5% after every paddle return.
  • The CPU follows the ball automatically.

Table Tennis Game Mechanics

Objective

Control the left paddle against a CPU opponent and become the first side to score 7 points.

Round End

The first side to reach 7 points wins. Tap the game after the result to reset both scores and start again.

  • The CPU paddle follows the ball with a 0.06 easing factor rather than teleporting directly to it.
  • Every paddle return multiplies horizontal ball speed by 1.05 and also changes vertical speed based on where the ball hits the paddle.
  • Touch drag controls the player paddle continuously; arrow keys move it in 6-pixel steps per frame while held.
  • Match scores are not persisted after a reload.

Tips & Strategies

  • Track the ball early instead of reacting only when it reaches your side.
  • Use the upper or lower part of the paddle when you want a stronger vertical angle.
  • Long rallies get faster, so reduce unnecessary paddle movement as ball speed builds.
