About Color Switch

Color Switch combines one-tap vertical movement with a color-matching collision rule. Every tap gives the ball a fixed upward impulse, while gravity pulls it down between taps. The obstacles rotate, so timing and color recognition matter at the same time.

The obstacle set alternates randomly between circular four-color rings and four-color bar patterns. Clearing an obstacle adds 1 point, immediately changes the ball to a random one of four colors, and spawns another obstacle farther above. That color change means the safe segment for the next obstacle may be completely different from the one you just used.

How to Play Color Switch

1Tap, click, or press Space to start and give the ball an upward impulse.

2Keep tapping as needed to control height while gravity pulls the ball downward.

3Approach each rotating obstacle through a segment that matches the ball's current color.

4After each successful pass, check the ball's new color before committing to the next obstacle.

Color Switch Rules

  • Each cleared obstacle adds 1 point.
  • The ball color changes randomly after every scored obstacle.
  • A tap sets vertical velocity to -8; gravity then adds +0.35 per update.
  • Obstacles rotate and can be either a four-color ring or a four-color bar pattern.
  • Touching a non-matching color segment or falling below the play area ends the run.

Color Switch Game Mechanics

Objective

Keep the bouncing ball moving upward and pass through only the obstacle segment that matches the ball's current color.

Round End

The run ends if the ball touches a non-matching obstacle segment or falls below the bottom of the scrolling play area.

  • Each tap sets vertical velocity to -8, while gravity adds +0.35 per update and pulls the ball back down.
  • Obstacles are randomly generated as either four-color circles or four-color bar patterns.
  • Obstacle rotation speed is random from 0.02 up to 0.04 radians per update.
  • After every cleared obstacle, the ball color is randomized and another obstacle is spawned 160 pixels above the current highest obstacle.
  • The highest cleared-obstacle score is saved in localStorage in the current browser.

Tips & Strategies

  • Read the ball color after every point before you focus on the next opening; the color is randomized immediately after a successful pass.
  • Use separate taps to control height instead of holding a fixed rhythm. The rotating obstacle may require you to wait for the correct color segment.
  • Avoid climbing too quickly into an obstacle. A small amount of vertical space gives you time to watch the rotation and choose the matching segment.
  • When a pass succeeds, reset your plan rather than repeating the previous timing because both the ball color and the next obstacle type can change.
