About Tap Tycoon
Tap Tycoon is a browser clicker game built around two income sources: active tapping and automatic cash per second. You begin with a tap power of $1 and no passive income, then spend cash on upgrades that strengthen one side or the other.
The upgrade ladder runs from Auto Clicker and Better Tap to Workers, Factories, Corporations and an Empire. Each upgrade has a fixed income effect per level, while its purchase price scales by 1.15 to the power of the current level. The result is a simple reinvestment loop: earn, buy, increase production, then save for the next more expensive level.
How to Play Tap Tycoon
1Press the TAP button to earn cash using your current tap power.
2When you can afford an upgrade, select it to spend cash and raise either tap power or passive income.
3Use passive-income upgrades to keep earning automatically while the page stays open.
4Balance frequent smaller upgrades against saving for larger boosts such as Factory, Corporation, Mega Tap and Empire.
Tap Tycoon Rules
- The game starts with $0 cash, $1 tap power and $0 per second passive income.
- Each upgrade level costs floor(base cost à 1.15^current level).
- Tap upgrades increase the amount earned per press; passive upgrades increase cash earned per second.
- Buying an upgrade subtracts its cost from current cash but does not reduce Total earned.
- There is no game-over timer. The session continues until the page is closed or reloaded.

Objective
Earn cash by tapping, buy upgrades that increase tap power or passive income, and grow total earnings as high as possible.
Round End
There is no fixed game-over state or timer; the session continues while the page remains open.
- Upgrade cost is floor(base cost à 1.15^level), so buying repeated levels makes the same upgrade progressively more expensive.
- Passive income is credited ten times per second in 0.1-second ticks, adding perSec / 10 each tick.
- Cash can be spent on upgrades, while total earned only increases and is used for the saved best total.
- Only the best total-earned value is saved to localStorage. Cash, upgrade levels, tap power and passive income reset when the page reloads.
Tips & Strategies
- Buy the $15 Auto Clicker early if you want passive income to start contributing while you continue tapping.
- Compare upgrade cost with its income gain instead of always buying the cheapest visible option; later upgrades add much larger amounts per level.
- Because the same upgrade becomes 15% more expensive each level, spreading purchases across different upgrade types can sometimes produce more income for the same cash.
- Remember that only the best Total earned value persists after a reload. Upgrade levels and current cash do not.
